Summer has kicked in and boats are moving, not as many as in previous years, but it is nice to see boats moving on the Bridgewater.
Most are heading either to or from Liverpool via the recently opened (2009) Liverpool Link.
Following a £22 million facelift, the canal link opened to boats in April 2009 and extends from Stanley Dock Lock Flight on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal via Albert Dock to the South Docks. This stretch of canal travels along the city’s historic waterfront passing museums, restaurants and galleries making it a great option for a family day out. The canal also passes many listed buildings on its route into Liverpool including the photogenic Three Graces.
This has caused us a bit of a delay in sorting the shop out to make space for the Tearoom, for those of you who have not visited our Chandlery (boat bits and pieces), this is a major undertaking, we stock a vast array of items, form nuts and bolts to cookers, including the kitchen sink. The first step in the process is to clear out and organise our workshop and stores then we can move some of the more industrial/engineering items into there.
Realistically we will be looking to open towards the end of the year
We are still getting a lot of positive comments from everyone, Thank you! We cant wait to see you as customers.
